Independent research into field-to-bill workflows

Field-to-Bill is an early-stage research project exploring how scaffolding contractors reconcile site activity with commercial records—particularly variations, daywork, out-of-hours work and extra hire.

We are developing an evidence-led review method that compares contract terms, site communications, timesheets, variation records and invoices. So far, the method has been tested using synthetic project records. We are now speaking with UK scaffolding contractors to understand how the process works in practice and whether reconciliation gaps are a genuine operational problem.

At this stage, we are not selling software or requesting confidential project information. The aim is to understand existing workflows, identify where commercial reconciliation becomes difficult and determine whether a useful service should be developed.
